This is the most mysterious item I’ve read. More specifically, it is unwilling to give up its secrets and has been designed that way. It is a rare example of a self-cursed item. Any subsequent wearer has adopted similar traits without even noticing that it’s happening, even if they were previously a shining example of humanity. This ring is a collector of souls and any bits that it can obtain and has an energy that seemingly gives it a life of its own.
